237 – Daredevil Portrait

The final piece of my contribution to the Christopher’s Restaurant art gallery that is on display from September 20th through October 31st. Jason Young and Jeff Potter, my fellow Ok, PANIC! artists, have each done five portraits of various superheroes, and they are all available for sale. If you live in the Dayton, Ohio area, go eat some delicious food and enjoy some great comic-related artwork.

These portraits are great. I love the use of shadows and hatching on this one.

All the five portraits are absolutely great, but I think this one and and the Firestorm one are the best of the best. How long did it take you to do this one?

Can I ask, were these portraits based on actual models? Or did you you just render them more heavily then usual to make them seem more lifelike?

Some really strong hatch work across all five of them. I love it.

Thanks, Jeff! I think all of yours amazingly gorgeous!

I can’t remember how long any of them took to do.
