97. Timber Wolf

Timber Wolvertooth!

Why is Bob’s Burgers second season only 9 episodes long?

I had a Kirby epiphany. A Kirbiphany.

I’m looking at modern day superhero costume designs, and it’s all extraneous lines and seams and designy dots and glowing suits and krackle. Then a New God or a Celestial shows up and it’s all extraneous lines and seams and designy dots and glowing suits and krackle. These characters – these alien gods and inhuman manifestations of human emotions and elements are supposed to slap you across the face with their visual weirdness and awesomeness. They’re supposed to be more visually impressive than the already visually impressive superheroes that are around. Their appearances mean something. Yet, when the “normal” characters are all flash-bang zippidy-whippidy hoohah, what is there to make these immortal ethereal beings stand out?

I understand the want and desire to pay homage to The King, but glow-y Tron lines only serve to hurt the kind of thing Kirby was the master of.

I don’t know if any of that makes sense to anyone else. I mean that in a clarity/I’m dumb kinda way.
