001 – Golden Age Brave and the Bold

And awaaaaaaay we go!

With modern DC continuity, The Golden Age Flash and Green Lantern have sorta become the Superman/Batman of the G.A. I wanted to tackle a redesign of these two. Completely inspired by Tony Harris’ JSA: Liberty Files series, with a bit of Lee Bermejo for flavor.

I’ve also been trying to experiment with zip-a-tone patterns in Photoshop, so here’s the color version with zip.

And here’s the black and white version.

Day One, in the books! Starting off strong, it’s all downhill from here!

JSA: The Liberty Files/The Unholy Three are some of my favorite comics of all time. Nice Flash and Lantern (even though The Lantern never appeared in costume in Unholy Three. I really like the ‘actual clothing’ design you got going on.

  1. Jim – Thanks! I know Lantern never appeared in costume, and Flash’s was quite different. I just sorta ran with ’em. As much as I like a tradition hero in spandex, I like playing with the “actual clothes” idea.
Jason – Thank you! And I think you mean 364. Unless you’re predicting that I’m gonna miss 10 days?

  2. I love these versions! Great work buddy!
