Heroes

Happy 2010: The Year We Make Contact.

Been a few, but the business of the holidays will die down, and I’ll be able to get back on track with blogart finally.

We’ve got Iron Fist and Luke Cage here, two characters I’ve been attempting to draw for a few years – unsuccessfully. This is as close as I’ve gotten. I wanted to do the retro-70s border and colors with it for just as long. It could have gone better. I need to plan these things out better.

I drew Danny and Luke with grey brush pens. It really made me want to do more marker renderings. Who knew when I sold off my markers years ago I’d ever want to use them again?

Colossus

Drawn a few years ago in pencil, finished in Adobe Illustrator. There are some things I’d like to go back and tweak, but can’t find the original AI file. Colossus was always one of my favorite X-Men characters when I was growing up, probably third after Nightcrawler and Wolverine.

Firestorm

Firestorm, a childhood favorite of mine (that I still have an affinity for), reimagined as a New God – Kirbyized. Done in Illustrator a few years back.

And then “finished” it in Adobe Illustrator and tweaked in Photoshop.
