The Devil's Wedding Night

This is a follow-up to my last post, the second cover I did for the Dr. Creep/New Shock Theater DVD covers project. The movie is called “The Devil’s Wedding Night”. I wanted to go in a completely different direction and style with this cover, but I still had to stick with the parameters of putting Dr. Creep on it somehow. Not too happy with the placement of the text, it looks more like the movie is called “Satan is Coming”. Oh well, we’ll get ‘em next time, Champ.

Heroes

Happy 2010: The Year We Make Contact.

Been a few, but the business of the holidays will die down, and I’ll be able to get back on track with blogart finally.

We’ve got Iron Fist and Luke Cage here, two characters I’ve been attempting to draw for a few years – unsuccessfully. This is as close as I’ve gotten. I wanted to do the retro-70s border and colors with it for just as long. It could have gone better. I need to plan these things out better.

I drew Danny and Luke with grey brush pens. It really made me want to do more marker renderings. Who knew when I sold off my markers years ago I’d ever want to use them again?

And then “finished” it in Adobe Illustrator and tweaked in Photoshop.
