The Creeper (45)

Well shit. Age 44 – the year that actually tried to kill me. Jesus Christ. In September ’22 I wound up in the hospital for 2 weeks due to an infection in my leg which was killing me, as well as essentially melting the bones in my foot. I was out of work for a …

The Question

Over on my social media (Twitter), I’m keeping track of my New Year’s Resolution: I am going to read at least one comic a day. I know it doesn’t seem like much, but I’ve been dreadfully lax in all kinds of reading for… 20 years? It’s bad. I need & want to read more. I …

1371. Blue Beetle #1

Click to embiggen. Today would be Steve Ditko’s 91st birthday. I initially drew this for a coalition of 91 artists drawing Ditko sketches today. I’m not sure if there is going to be any follow-through on anyone else’s part. This is an homage/recreation of Charlton Comics’ BLUE BEETLE #1 (see below). It is also featured …

He was originally drawn with the slanted, thin eyes, and same skin coloring as The Ancient One in the …

054 – The Question

I recently came to the conclusion that I love a lot of Steve Ditko creations, but I do not particularly care for the work of Steve Ditko. He’s a creative mind who has created a lot of characters that I unabashedly love like The Question, Creeper, Spider-Man, Dr. Strange, and of course, Blue Beetle. But …

421. The Creeper

So. Five days on, the death of Dave Brockie is still affecting me. My friend Jason and I were discussing it, and we can succinctly sum it as a super-bummer. But even that seems too light. Because it is truly bothering me. Celebrity deaths don’t mean anything to me. Even when someone like Phillip Seymour …

Blue Beetle

My friend Jason drew this piece, maybe at my request? Then I colored it.

235 – Blue Beetle Portrait

Part 3 of my contribution to the Christopher’s Restaurant art gallery that is on display from September 20th through October 31st. Jason Young and Jeff Potter, my fellow Ok, PANIC! artists, have each done five portraits of various superheroes, and they are all available for sale. If you live in the Dayton, Ohio area, go …
