328. Eleventh Doctor

Merry Christmas, everyone. I’m not big on celebrating the holiday anymore, but I don’t want to rain on everyone’s parade either. So I truly hope everyone that visits this blog has a great holiday, whichever ones you celebrate or don’t. One thing I am looking forward to though is the appearance of Mike Schmidt: The 40 Year Old Boy tonight on Wheel of Fortune as a contestant. The other thing I am looking forward to is the Doctor Who Christmas Special. Tonight is Matt Smith’s final outing as the 11th (12th?) Doctor and the 1st (most likely brief) appearance of Peter Capaldi as the 12th (13th?) Doctor (Valeyard?). I never really warmed up to Smith as 11. He’s fine, but, I dunno. Something about his run doesn’t make me love it as much as Eccleston & Tennant’s. I’m looking forward to Capaldi as an older gentleman and seeing his relationship with cute, perky Clara whom I kinda think is the worst companion in the entire New Who series. But a friend of mine absolutely loves Matt Smith as The Doctor, and the original drawing was her birthday present a month ago and now her Christmas present as a colored print. This is also soon to be available for sale as a print at the Art Store.

I dig Matt Smith, but I agree that Clara is a bit of a dull companion. I mean, not Martha dull, but close. (For the record; Donna, Amy/Rory, Wilfred (best one-off companion?!), Micky, Rose, Clara, Martha; are my rankings at the moment)
It will be interesting to have an older Doctor again.

  1. I go Donna, Wilfred, Rory, that one guy and his baby, Amy, Rose, Mickey, Martha and Clara.

    Beautiful color work!
And for the record my ranking of favorite companions are:
Chewbacca, Robin, Tonto, Short Round, Harpo Marx and finally Scooby Dumb.

  2. Don’t you mean Scrappy Doo?
