I don’t much care for Alex Ross, but I’ve always liked his take on Bruce Wayne, a broken, scarred, gigantic human being.

066 – Adam West Batman
Really tight on time this week, so here’s a post-it sketch I did of Adam West as Batman. Also included is another drawing of Adam West as Batman that I did a few years ago. I think it’s a better piece, but didn’t want to blatantly use an old drawing for today’s entry. Ok, back …
063 – Batman
Testing out the Pentel Pocket Brush in my sketchbook as I waited to get new tires installed. Surprised it took me this long to get a Batman sketch up during the sketch-a-day quest.
047 – Owlman
Owlman, the Crime Syndicate version of Batman. He’s an amazing character in Grant Morrison’s Earth 2 graphic novel, and that is totally trumped by the version of the character in the Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths direct-to-DVD movie.
043 – Catwoman
Need to draw more lady characters, need to get better.
017 – Joker
I have a habit of making doodles of The Joker, and trying different styles and looks when I do. This is one.
009 – Eradicator

Afterward, we decided to watch Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, the animated DVD (blu-ray!) movie based on Loeb’s first Superman/Batman arc. While watching the movie, Jason and I both drew different versions of The World’s Finest. I …
Puddin’
Is it a cliche to say that Joker is the best comic book villain ever? Sure. But it’s also true. Played out a bit? Also true, but still will always be awesome. Except when played by Heath Ledger as Al Franken.
Batman: Fruit Pies
A parody of the old Hostess superhero ads. I miss this element in comics. Occasionally you see ads featuring superheroes, but A) they’re usually pandering, patronizing PSAs like “Jimmy, you shouldn’t smoke!” “Drugs are whack, yo!” or “Stop fisting your sister!” 2) they’re always poorly drawn and written. Sure the hostess ads ain’t high art, …
