1097. Batman

I need to have a 6-page comic & cover done by mid-April. Drawing has been a rough endeavor lately, so I need to focus. But I’m not giving up the Sketch-a-Day. So, I’m doing a theme month, which will allow me some breathing room.

So, I present: BATRUARY!

All month long, February 2018 will be all Batman. No sidekicks, no villains, no supporting players. Just Batman. 28 days of Batman. It’s so dumb & easy, it has to be done.

Today also marks the 7th anniversary of when I started the initial Sketch-a-Day. I have probably drawn Batman more than any other character during those 7 years, so let’s keep cranking him out.
It might get weird.

1096. The Monster from Hell

Oddly, the Hammer horror films are a blind spot in my fandom, but I have seen this movie, Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell. It’s pretty great.
Brassfield Week, Final Day: David Prowse’s best role.

Thanks for supporting Matt Brassfield’s week! Tomorrow begins an entire theme month. Stay tuned!

1095. Ultimate Warrior

Brassfield Week, Day 7: a rassler and probably insane person.

1094. Night Man

Brassfield Week, Day 6: the 2nd sexiest jazz saxophone playing superhero.

1093. Red Tornado

I initially had to ask what Matt meant when he requested this one. I was just about to draw a terrible rolled snack you get at convenient stores. But he clarified.

I seriously love Red Tornado. He is criminally underused or poorly used.

Brassfield Week, Day 5: a robot superhero I love!

1092. Lady Shani

Brassfield Week, Day 4: a sexy female luchador

1091. Scissorman

Back in 1999 or so, when I moved out and got a Playstation, I rented CLOCK TOWER & SILENT HILL. I played CLOCK TOWER for maybe 30 minutes. I got bored & frustrated and switched to SILENT HILL and fell in love for life.

Brassfield Week, Day 3: a villain from a video game I hated.

1090. Sweetums

Brassfield Week, Day 2: an obscure muppet that kinda looks like Brassfield.

1089. Morgus the Magnificent

I’ve been struggling with the sketchaday for a while, so I decided to shake things up a bit.

I haven’t done a theme week based solely around a friend’s suggestions in quite a while, and in the 487 years I’ve been doing this, I’ve never picked Matt Brassfield to give a theme week to.

So, January is gonna wrap up as Brassfield Week begins today. If you know Matt Brassfield, you will not be surprised by any of his choices. You will be surprised there’s no Hulk or werewolves, though.

Brassfield Week, Day 1: a horror host! Who could have predicted that?

1088. Winter Soldier
