I tried to draw Clark Kent as kind of a schlub, in the style of a Frank Quitely from All-Star Superman. But Frank Quitely is a special kind of genius, and I am a special kind of failure.

I drew this as a Christmas gift for a friend. The idea for it popped in my head and I couldn’t shake it loose. My friend had stated many times in the past how much he loved old Silver-Age Superman covers where he was eating, and for some reason I just kept thinking “Superman vs. Stay-Puft”. It had to be done. I made it an Action Comics cover because I love the logo.
I’m putting this up this week to coincide with the new Ok, PANIC! theme, which is Superman. Check it out!
This week on Gutter Trash: Weathercraft.
This week at Ok, PANIC!: Superman.
A week ago or so, my friend Jason and I reviewed Jeph Loeb’s “Daredevil Yellow” for our podcast, Gutter Trash. Afterward, we decided to watch Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, the animated DVD (blu-ray!) movie based on Loeb’s first Superman/Batman arc. While watch the movie, Jason and I both drew different versions of The World’s Finest. I decided to go with the Golden Age versions, mostly just ’cause. I like to freak out the normies. Batman’s got a gun? Wha?! So for every comic fan that doesn’t want to embrace any change whatsoever, and wants the characters to stay true to their original versions: Suck it, fuckers.
