Today is the day. Happy 100th Birthday, Jack Kirby. Thought I’d mega-load today’s post with characters from Kirby’s magnum-opus, The New Gods/Fourth World saga.

I have really enjoyed drawing most of these characters up to this point. I wish I hadn’t rushed through some of them to make the date, but I wanted to be ahead of the game. Perils of having a job.

932a. The Superior Foes of Spider-Man

Taking a break from Kirby drawings to pay homage to the big DC Comics event DARK NIGHTS: METAL with the Superior Foes of Spider-Man.
All credit to Joe Grunenwald for the idea to do this thoughtful tribute.

932

Captain Victory

Crazy Quilt

Hulk

I had no idea Jack Kirby created Crazy Quilt, but I think that’s awesome. I will always think of my pal Joe G. when I think of Crazy Quilt. It’s his favorite character, no matter how much he argues or says “The Flash”.
