It Means "Go!", Goddammit!

Seriously, the green arrow means go. Don’t fucking hesitate. And for that matter, when it’s just a regular green light and you’re making a left turn, pull into the damn intersection, for chrissake. I believe I’ve already laid out my love for the archer superheroes in the Hawkeye drawing. I’m especially a big fan of …

I’m a Creep

My first exposure to The Creeper was the “Greatest Joker Stories Ever Told” trade paperback. I was fascinated by the bizarre character. Ditko’s some kind of genius. Crazy, but genius. I even was a big fan of The Creeper series from the late 90s. Not so much the Steve Niles series. Best forgotten.

The Shadow of Atomic Fear

Two Sabbath references in a row! I like The Atom. I became a fan of Ray Palmer when I found the “Sword of The Atom” series in a second hand store, and enjoyed his appearances in Dan Jurgen’s unfairly maligned “Teen Titans” series. But I’m not such a whiny fuck that when he was replaced …

The Invisibles

Grant Morrison’s Invisibles is my all-time, absolute, #1 favorite comic of all time, of any genre. It almost changed my life, if not for the fact that my laziness and unmotivated ways won out over life-alteration, and simply just gave up. I didn’t draw Boy a) because I thought I’d make her look too manish, …

The World’s Finest

A week ago or so, my friend Jason and I reviewed Jeph Loeb’s “Daredevil Yellow” for our podcast, Gutter Trash. Afterward, we decided to watch Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, the animated DVD (blu-ray!) movie based on Loeb’s first Superman/Batman arc. While watching the movie, Jason and I both drew different versions of The World’s Finest. I …

Fraggin’ a world he never made

By request, Lobo the Duck, which was a hell of a lot of fun to draw. Makes me want to tackle the main Main Man hisself, as well.

J’onn J’onzz: The Manhunter from Mars

A redesign of Martian Manhunter.

Puddin’

Is it a cliche to say that Joker is the best comic book villain ever? Sure. But it’s also true. Played out a bit? Also true, but still will always be awesome. Except when played by Heath Ledger as Al Franken.
